JoyWordle is built to respect your privacy. This page explains what we do — and mostly don't — collect.

Data stored on your device

Your game progress, statistics, streaks and preferences (such as dark mode and hard mode) are saved in your browser's local storage. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data will reset it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used — for example, which games are popular and how visitors find us. GA4 sets its own cookies and processes usage data on Google's infrastructure; it does not store your IP address, and we don't collect your name or email. It is never used on Wordle for Kids.

Cookies & your choices

Essential functionality (your game progress and settings) uses local storage on your device only. Google Analytics sets measurement cookies. You can opt out with a browser content blocker, a “Do Not Track” setting, or Google's Analytics Opt-out add-on.

Advertising

To keep JoyWordle free, we show ads supplied by third-party ad networks. These networks may set their own cookies or use similar technologies to measure and display ads. Ads are clearly labelled “Advertisement”, are kept below the game area, and are never shown on Wordle for Kids. We do not send advertisers your name, email or game history — we don't collect that data in the first place. You can limit ad personalisation in your browser or device privacy settings.

Sign in with Google (optional)

The leaderboard lets you optionally sign in with your Google account so your scores show your real name with a verified badge and follow you across devices. If you sign in, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us; we use them only to identify you on the leaderboard. Sign-in is entirely optional — you can always play and join the board anonymously with a nickname. Sign out any time from the leaderboard to stop using your Google identity.

Children

Our games are family friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
