Octordle
Octordle is eight Wordle boards solved with one keyboard and thirteen guesses. At this size something changes that catches most players out: targeting individual answers stops working. Eight boards is where you have to switch from solving to harvesting.
Stop aiming, start covering
With two or four boards you can afford to think about a specific answer early. With eight you cannot — any word chosen to crack one board is, by definition, a poor fit for the other seven. The strong opening is therefore not clever at all. It is mechanical: play three or four words that between them cover as much of the common alphabet as possible, and do not look for answers while doing it.
After four blind guesses you will typically have partial information on all eight boards at once, and usually two or three of them will be nearly forced. That is the moment the game turns.
The middle game
- Harvest the certainties. Type out every board you are sure of, back to back. Each one removes a competing claim on your remaining guesses.
- Keep an eye on the count. Thirteen guesses for eight words leaves five spare. Spending two of them exploring is fine; spending five is fatal.
- Leave the vaguest board for last. Late guesses are worth more on a board you know nothing about, because by then the others are closed.
Octordle is a genuine step up from Quordle — not because the words are harder, but because the plan has to change. If eight stops being enough, Sedecordle doubles it to sixteen. Each mode offers a shared daily puzzle plus unlimited practice, and all our games are one click away.
