Make Your Own Wordle
Pick any word, get a link, send it to anyone. They open it and play your puzzle in the browser — no app, no account, nothing to install on either side.
How it works
- Type a secret word of 3 to 11 letters.
- Press Create link. The answer is encoded into the link itself.
- Share the link. Whoever opens it gets six guesses, with the same green, yellow and grey clues as the classic game.
Because the answer travels inside the link, there is no database and nothing stored on our servers — your word never leaves the link you just created. The flip side is worth knowing: the link is obfuscated, not encrypted, so it is perfect for friends and classrooms and not the place for an actual secret.
Ideas worth stealing
- Classrooms. Turn the week's spelling list or a science term into a warm-up. The word can be any length and the link needs no login, so it drops straight into Google Classroom, Seesaw or your LMS and students just click.
- Announcements. Hide a name, a date or a place and let someone guess their way to the news.
- Teams and parties. An inside-joke word for a group chat travels better than a plain message.
- Language practice. Set a word a learner has just met to test whether the spelling stuck.
Tips for a good puzzle
Five to seven letters is the sweet spot — short words give too few clues, and very long ones are usually cracked on the second guess. Avoid repeated letters if you want it fair, and remember the player does not know the length until they open it, so a surprise eleven-letter answer is a real challenge.
